The following DHA health insurance programs are closed to new enrollment as of February 1, 2013 and coverage in these programs will terminate on December 31, 2013: The Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) program through DirigoChoice is open to new enrollment but will also terminate DirigoChoice coverage on December 31, 2013. What are my health insurance options? There is a new way to obtain health insurance beginning January 1, 2014 through the Affordable Care Act called the Health Insurance Marketplace/Exchange. Enrollment in the federal Health Insurance Marketplace/Exchange is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2013 for health coverage to take effect on January 1, 2014. You can sign up now at www.healthcare.gov for emails and text messages to get information on: The Marketplace/Exchange is designed to help you find health insurance that fits your budget. Every health insurance plan in the new Marketplace/Exchange will offer comprehensive coverage, from doctors to medications to hospital visits. You can compare all your insurance options based on price, benefits, quality, and other features that may be important to you. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine and Maine Community Health Options (MCHO) located in Lewiston, Maine will offer new health insurance options for Maine people and small businesses in the Marketplace/Exchange beginning in January 2014.
